this is my personal pocket of calm in the vast, unruly wilds of the internet. i began working on this page in november 2024, after deciding that i want to explore a way to exist online without being assaulted by algorithms, censorship, advertising, and other people's bad takes by being brave and learning html.
the name for this site comes from a real place from my childhood, a patch of small pines behind my grandmother's house, where i'd play pretend and tell stories in a space that felt sacred and mine. hopefully this site can be, too.
if this resonates with you at all, please take a moment to rest here in the shade. you must do nothing but exist, as you are. but also, you can and should make your own personal site on neocities for free. their tutorials on HTML and CSS are incredibly helpful and easy to follow and are what allowed me, a total novice, to build the foundations of this ever-growing site. take back your identity from social media giants, search engine optimization and AI bullshit and make something true and beautiful :)
